Think you're too grown up for this weekend's Seafair events? Not excited to drive up to Green Lake for the Allstate Milk Carton Derby or all the way out to West Seattle for the Seafair Pirate Landing at Alki Beach? Didn't get as strong a hangover as you would've liked from your Independence Day partying?
Maybe relaxing with a couple of cold beers at the Seattle Center for Seattle International Beerfest 2008 is more your cup of tea (or imported IPA).

$20 gets you admission for the entire weekend, a souvenir event glass, and 10 beer tickets to start off your weekend of liquid abandon. Trying as many of the nearly 140 beers as you can in the next two days of the festival (it runs through Sunday) will be great for garnering bragging rights with your beer connoisseur friends (if you can stay sober enough to remember all the tastes).
Not sure if all that beer, plus live music and free games is worth your time? Then ask yourself this simple question: "Do I like beer?"
If you answered in the affirmative, this could be a great way to spend the rest of your Fourth of July weekend. As I found out yesterday, it's also very dog-friendly and delightfully laid back if you need to nurse a previous hangover before working on a new one.

You gotta try the Royal Mead and the French Malt Liquor. Alone worth the price of admission!
